Twitches…
So… I say SO quite a lot…
If you havent realised it yet… Im not the best writer. I never did great in essay writing… O and not to mention I went to an afrikaans high school.. But let’s not make excuses. Laymen’s terms… I write how I talk… Lets get back to twitches…
Johnathan started with twitches at the age of 6 weeks. A couple of days after the Dr told us he has brains damage and he didn’t elaborate and well we had some issues with the Paediatrician. Let’s not go there. Twitches. Paediatric neurosurgeon says we need to go for a EEG, okay. Lets do that.. Done. Yay no epilepsy.. And we assume Benign myoclonus (the paediatrician never came back with the results) but the EEG lady said, there is something but it’s not epilepsy, so we ask her does that mean he doesn’t have epilepsy, she says… For the time being.. When we eventually got to see the paediatric neurosurgeon, the twitch is gone and we are less stressed… Stress…that happens often as a mother. Not sure if it’s as much as a normal mother than with a SUPERBOY like mine. I can assume it is stressful either way to be a mom. So here I am worrying about if my baby has epilepsy or not. The Dr said it’s a possibility because of his injury he sustained at birth.. We should watch our for it from about 4months. OK so Yay. No epilepsy yet…
About a week ago… I notice Johnathan had a twitch. Yay stress is back… And mommy needs her rescue pastilles (Hehe). I’m too scared to Google what it could be, I inform my hubby and he reads up and says that that benign myoclonus can happen till the age of 2 and it happens mostly when they are super tired.. We went to a wedding on Sunday and little J didnt sleep much but he did twitch quite a bit… We going to a new paediatrician next week. If it gets worse I will take him to the hospital or something… Not sure really. Haven’t been in this situation before.. It is stressful like I mentioned though. To see your baby twitch and see his eyes pretty much for blank for a split second or 2… Will keep you posted on this and if it gets worse, or when it gets better. Today was a good day with no twitch.. Well none that I saw… Like my husband always asks.. Did Johnathan make you smile today…
